You can either ship just the board, or the whole assembly. If you want to send just the board, be aware that involves unsoldering a bunch of wires, which you have to resolder back on later, and do it properly too. On the other hand, shipping the entire assembly will cost some bucks since that transformer is one heavy sucker - the decision is yours as you're paying the shipping both ways! Assembled, it will not fit in a USPS Flat Rate box, so your best bet would be to send it UPS. Be sure to pack plenty of stuff around it so it won't bounce around inside the box.NOTE - If you're going to send just the board, I can not test it if you don't include the wires going to the transformer. If you want me to test the board after I rebuild it, DO NOT UNSOLDER THE WIRES, but cut them half way between the board and the transformer, then splice them back together when you get the board back. Better yet, just send me the whole assembly.
I CAN NOT TEST YOUR BOARD UNLESS ALL WIRES ARE STILL ATTACHED!
So feel free to send me your board(s) or assemblies and I'll take a look and let you know what I think, then you can decide what to do from there. Probably a good idea if you e-mail me first, just so I know what to expect (remove the NO_S*P*A*M_).
Here's a picture of an AS-1825-49 that I recently refirbushed. The dual diodes on this one were good, so they were not replaced.
Of course, there's always Ts & Cs
(revised again), and don't forget prices DO NOT include shipping.
If you decide to "do it yourself", visit
Big Daddy or
GPE
for all the parts you'll need.
I'll still fix it when you're done. :-)
Thanks!
