AS-2518-18 Rectifier Board
Bally logo

Common problems with the AS-2518-18 rectifier board include burnt header pins and a stressed out bridge rectifier at BR1. If your power supply is faulty, the whole machine will suffer. I offer a few options to help restore your -18 back to perfect working condition. I also give your board a complete bench test to make sure everything's working properly. Click Here to learn how I test rectifier board assemblies.

Here's a table of rates for each type of repair, and all prices include parts and labor.

I also ask that you pay return postage, which will be the going rate for U.S. Priority Flat Rate Priority, or International Priority, plus optional insurance.

It's best to send the entire assembly: board, transformer, and mounting plate, so I can properly test it. If you want to send just the board, be aware that you'll have to cut or remove the wires that go to the board, and then reappy them properly. Shipping the entire assembly is not that bad as the USPS has a flat-rate priority box that the whole assembly will fit in, which costs less than 10.00, plus insurance.

BE SURE TO ADD LOTS OF PACKING MATERIAL AROUND THE TRANSFORMER TO KEEP IT
FROM SHIFTING AROUND IN THE BOX!!!
I like to nail a small piece of wood inside the box, then screw the mounting plate to that in order to secure it.

NOTE - If you're going to send just the board, I can not test it if you don't include the wires going to the transformer. If you want me to test the board after I rebuild it, DO NOT UNSOLDER THE WIRES, but cut them half way between the board and the transformer, then splice them back together when you get the board back. Better yet, just send me the whole assembly.

I CAN NOT TEST YOUR BOARD UNLESS ALL WIRES ARE STILL ATTACHED!

So feel free to send me your board(s) or assemblies and I'll take a look and let you know what I think, then you can decide what to do from there. Probably a good idea if you e-mail me first, just so I know what to expect (remove the NO_S*P*A*M_).

Here's what these boards normally look like. The small bridges are mounted on the underside below where it's labeled BR1, BR2, and BR3:

Here's a board after I gave it a tuneup - notice the new bigger bridges on top:

Of course, there's always Ts & Cs (revised again), and don't forget prices DO NOT include shipping.

If you decide to "do it yourself", visit Big Daddy or GPE for all the parts you'll need.
I'll still fix it when you're done. :-)

Thanks!
